In its ongoing commitment to product performance, Shiyun Electronics recently conducted a field test under extreme winter conditions. With the assistance of our partners in Northeast China, we subjected a range of nylon cable ties to a harsh, sub-zero environment to evaluate their durability and reliability.
For this real-world experiment, we selected four specifications of ties (7.6x250mm, 2.5x120mm, 4.8x300mm, 3.6x200mm), all made from high/low-temperature resistant material rated for -40°C to 105°C.
Multiple samples of each type were randomly chosen and placed outdoors in a freshly snowed-in location for 9–10 hours. The goal was to observe whether prolonged exposure would cause brittleness or breakage.
In a parallel test, several ties were fastened around tree branches (all test samples were retrieved afterwards to minimize environmental impact). We aimed to verify whether the ties would remain securely in place after hours of intense cold.
The results after a night of freezing temperatures were positive: the ties fastened to the branches showed no signs of loosening or breakage. Even those left exposed for 9–10 hours retained full functionality and could be used for binding without issue.
